What To Bring On Your Fall Hunt

  • Heavy warm jacket (My personal favorite for clothing is wool, but many of the new clothes are good as long as they're QUIET!)

  • Hat                           

  • Gloves

  • Light pants

  • Heavy pants

  • Light Long johns  

  • Heavy Long  johns

  • Socks and underwear for each day

  • Sturdy Hiking Boots

  • Insulated Pac Boots (air-bob soles work best)

  • Camp Shoes

  • Orange Vest (RIFLE ONLY)- 400 square inches (QUIET TYPE - Polarfleece works great) MT only.

  • Warm Sleeping Bag  (not required for lodge hunts)

  • Personal Medications

  • 2 Piece Raingear (No Ponchos)

  • Personal Shaving Kit with towel and face cloth

 ****HUNTING LICENSE****

Day Pack with the following:

  •      Bic Lighters

  •      Head lamp and /or Flashlight w/extra lamp and batteries

  •      2 Water bottles

  •      Compass

  •      Knife

  •      Binoculars

  •      Camera and Extra film

  •      Toilet paper in plastic bag (Very Important!)

  •      Extra Ammo

ATTENTION BOW HUNTERS: A Sling to carry your bow is extremely helpful for carrying your bow on the horse.

You should pack your duffel in soft duffel bags. Two bags are better than one big one plus sleeping bag for a total of 50 lbs. Each horse is rigged with a scabbard for a rifle. Also, each saddle has a set of saddle bags for you to use.
